Francis Poulenc : Ballet Suites 프란시스 뿔랑(1899~1963 프랑스)

프랑스 작곡가, 에릭 사띠와 동시대 작곡가로 프랑스 6인조 멤버이다

발레 조곡(Ballet Suites)을 비롯해서 2피아노 소나타(for two Piano Sonata),

2피아노 콘첼토(for two Piano Concerto) 등이 있다 뿔랑의 작품은 단순한 

멜로디를 사용해서 단순한 음율의 매력의 단순미를 보여주는 20세기

대표적인 프랑스 작곡가이다 그의 피아노 조곡들에서 피아노의 타악적인

템포감 느림의 미학, 모더니즘적인 단순미를 즐길 수 있다

The Suite from the ballet was arranged by Grant Johannesen for solo piano, with the composer's approval in 1951 and extended in 1975 to include other selections from the ballet. I. Petit jour (Dawn): très calme II. L'ours et les deux compagnons (The Bear and the Travelers): très animé III. La cigale et la fourmi (The Ant and the Grasshopper): très allant IV. Le lion amoureux (The Lion in Love): passionnément animé V. L'homme entre deux âges et ses deux maîtresses (The Man with two Mistresses): prestissimo VI. La mort et le bûcheron (Death and the woodcutter): très lent VII. Le combat des deux coqs (The battle of the two roosters): très modéré VIII. Le repas de midi (Lunchtime).
